Deformity of the ears is among the most common visible birth defects in children.

The  surgical  procedure needed to  repair  protruding  ears  in  young children is  best done  under  general  anesthesia.

It can be carried out under local anesthesia in   adult   patients.    The procedure  involves exposing  and  reshaping the deformed  ear  cartilages,  creating  the  missing ear  folds,  and  positioning the ears  in  their proper location.
